Sustainable Asset Management and Life-Cycle Investment: Assessing the Potential of ISO 55001 in the Circular Economy
13 November, 2025
Summary
The sustainability of assets and procedures is one of the main strategic concerns for many companies.
Many organisations have begun discussing how they are supporting the circular economy as part of their strategic sustainability goals.
It is necessary to identify methods that facilitate the transition of industry from a linear economy to a circular one.
Efficiency may delay the inevitable, but it cannot change the fact that resources are finite.
Reducing the amount of fossil fuels and resources used per unit of economic output is the definition of efficiency.
The transition can be supported through life-cycle investment and sustainable asset management.
It is crucial to provide asset managers with tools that can serve as decision-making criteria during the planned transition.
By using this information, managers will be able to base decisions on increasing the value of assets and deriving greater value from them, while reducing life-cycle investment and promoting sustainability throughout the process.
