“In practice, knowledge takes shape: what I learned in Industrial Engineering and Management", with Gabriel Gonçalves Bau
February 28, 2025

During my training in Industrial Engineering and Management, I have had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of the composition, properties and behavior of materials, which are essential for optimizing production processes. The intersection between chemistry and materials engineering is essential for technological innovations, from new polymers to stronger metal alloys.
Chemistry has been fundamental to my education, providing a solid foundation in the composition, reactivity and application of materials in industrial processes.
As part of my experience in the subject, I prepared a seminar on the importance of chemical solutions in the petrochemical industry, highlighting their essential role in optimizing water purification processes. Efficiency in water treatment and reuse is a critical factor in ensuring sustainability, cost reduction and environmental compliance in this strategic sector.
This study has reinforced my perception of how chemistry and engineering complement each other to develop innovative and sustainable solutions in industry. I am motivated to apply this knowledge in the search for more efficient and environmentally responsible processes!
