International Project Management Day
7 November, 2024
Since 2004, the first Thursday in November has been dedicated to International Project Management Day. Created by Frank Saladis, this date aims to recognize the valuable contribution of professionals and organizations that adopt various management methodologies, promoting good practices and the efficient execution of projects.
A project consists of innovative activities aimed at responding to unprecedented demands. Because they are temporary and exclusive, these activities require rigorous planning for execution with clear objectives, a defined scope, specific deadlines and determined resources, and are carried out in an environment of uncertainty and change.
In the Industrial Engineering and Management course at Universidade Lusófona, engineers are prepared with specific skills to deal with projects in environments of uncertainty and innovation. Combining engineering and management knowledge, these professionals are able to coordinate resources and teams to optimize processes and achieve strategic goals, with a focus on efficiency and alignment with the goals of organizations.
Therefore, on this commemorative date, we would like to highlight the work of project managers and congratulate them on their efforts to promote good practices, which are essential for ensuring that project requirements are met within the stipulated deadlines. The role of these professionals is fundamental to the success of organizations, as they ensure that initiatives are implemented effectively and efficiently, promoting innovation and continuous improvement in the business environment. We would like to thank all the project managers for their commitment and dedication.
