Introduction to Industrial Engineering and Management (IEGI) practical class

On October 30, Professor Raphaela Vidal took the 1st year students of the Industrial Engineering and Management (EGI) degree course to the Pilot Industrial Unit (UIP), located on the campus of Lusofona University, Centro Universitário de Lisboa, to visit the laboratory's facilities and carry out a practical activity as part of the Introduction to Industrial Engineering and Management (IEGI) course.

The visit included a presentation by the engineer João Lucas, responsible for the laboratory, on how the UIP works. It provided the students with their first contact with a production facility that brews beer, with the aim of showing them the product's production phases, processes, equipment and management functions.

The second aim of the activity was to encourage the students to relate the content they had seen in class to practice in companies. You can see a great deal of enthusiasm and commitment on the part of the students when they share their observations in class:
