Lean Lab Workshop

On 9 January, students from the Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management and the Postgraduate Programme in Lean and Operations Management at Universidade Lusófona took part in a hands-on workshop as part of the Lean Lab, delivered by Leroy Merlin.

Integrated into the curricular unit Lean Management and Operational Excellence, taught by Professor Pedro Marques, this gamified session enabled a didactic and dynamic simulation of the main processes of a Leroy Merlin store, from the in-store customer experience to stock management in warehouses and distribution centres, promoting applied learning closely aligned with business reality. This activity allowed students to apply the principles, methodologies and tools of Lean Management in a highly practical and interactive context.

“It was an enriching experience that strengthens the link between academia and the business sector, preparing students for the real challenges of operations management,” emphasised Professor Pedro Marques.
