Project FOODSENSE

José Oliveira Santos, Catherdatic Professor of the Faculty of Engineering of the Lusófona University, participates in the R&D project entitled “Foodsense”, which main aim is the development of an integrated filling line system, with industrial purposes, that allow companies from the food and beverage industries to timely detect contaminants. José Oliveira Santos is the Technical Director of this project that is promoted by the AFINOMAQ Group.

The FoodSense project main goal is to design, develop, test, optimize, and validate an innovative industrial filling line to be available for the food & beverage sector, particularly to be applied in mayonnaise and ice cream production processes. A differentiated feature of such line consists in the rapid online detection of different contaminating micro-organisms.

This project is being carried out with the support of the system of incentives for research and technological developments.
