Seminar: "Public-Private Partnerships in Urban Regeneration Projects: the Italian context and the case of 'Porta a Mare' in Livorno"
25 October, 2024
On October 30th, at 6:00 PM, Universidade Lusófona will host another seminar in the “Seminar Series: Management and Systems Engineering”, taking place in room K4 of the Espaço Kuadro. This event aims to promote academic discussion and knowledge exchange on topics of international relevance, with a particular focus this time on urban regeneration.
The presentation, titled "Public-Private Partnerships in Urban Regeneration Projects: the Italian context and the case of 'Porta a Mare' in Livorno", will be led by Paula Vale de Paula, a doctoral candidate at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa. Paula will explore the importance of public-private partnerships (PPP) in urban regeneration projects, with a special focus on the Italian context, highlighting the essential role of revitalizing degraded or underutilized urban areas as a driver of sustainable development. Urban regeneration not only enhances urban heritage but also contributes to improving the quality of life for citizens. In this process, PPPs play a vital role by enabling financial resources and technical expertise from the private sector to support and complement public goals and initiatives in urban regeneration.
The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participation either in person, in room K4, or online via the Zoom platform.
