Strategic partnership with the European network EIT Manufacturing

Strategic partnership reinforces the university's commitment to innovation, digitalisation and sustainability in European industry

The Universidade Lusófona is pleased to announce its integration as a member of EIT Manufacturing, one of the leading Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). This strategic partnership places the University at the heart of the digital and sustainable transformation of the European industry, consolidating its commitment to innovation, education, and entrepreneurship.

EIT Manufacturing brings together more than 50 organisations from 17 European countries, including leading companies, universities, and research centres, with the aim of boosting the competitiveness of European industry through collaborative innovation ecosystems. In Portugal, key partners include INESC TEC (Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science) and SONAE.

The participation of Universidade Lusófona, represented by researchers from the research centre RCM2+ (Faculty of Engineering), in this European network will enable the development of innovative projects, advanced training programmes, and initiatives to support companies and innovative start-ups. These projects will be aligned with the strategic objectives of EIT Manufacturing, such as the digitalisation of production and the promotion of environmental and social sustainability.

This integration strengthens the role of Universidade Lusófona as an active agent in promoting innovation and industrial competitiveness, while also contributing to the training of highly qualified professionals and the creation of high-value technological solutions.
